Suzy Gordon is a poet, writing mentor, and educator who works primarily with young writers. Suzy approaches writing from a sensory perspective where language is understood holistically as a felt, embodied experience. She loves the sound of poetry too, but isn't a spoken word poet. Her poems are most often preoccupied with family, history, the natural world, the psychological textures of relationships, the lived politics of subjective experience. Suzy has a background as an academic and also has a rather old publication portfolio associated with that should anyone ever be interested. She is currently working on a couple of books including The Creativity Handbook which develops new insights into the practices of creativity and writing as well as practical frameworks for writing with authenticity, energy, and personal voice. Suzy runs and edits the creative writing magazine Word Oysters, which publishes work by home educated students in Australia.Books & other projects:
